Another reason why I should be thankful...

Thankful that my 2 kids are healthy! Thankful for my sister-in-law and mother-in-law for bringing vaccination to my attention before Carson's 2 months shot.. Thankful that God lead us to the right direction for how we should raise our kids. Thankful that Kylie is off to a great start!! What are you thankful for??

I'm back.. and what do i say?? i don't know!? Kylie is still sleeping a lot and nurses a lot during one setting.. She does tend to wake up right when i want to go to bed.. so last night i didn't hit the bed till 3am.. Good thing she sleeps in too instead of waking me up early am.. She does wake up in the middle of the night to nurse but i am able to go back to sleep when she nurses.. I decided to put size Large diapers on her.. hopefully that will work out better for us.. I'm glad i didn't make 30 mediums.. that would have been a lot of time put into only 2 weeks of wearing size med. diapers.. but unfortunately, i only have... maybe 12 or 13 larges.. oh well!! i'll have to get back to sewing soon! She is very good at pooping and peeing while i change her diaper... already got poop on the floor a few times... thank goodness for carpet extractors!! AND she spits up a lot.. almost more like throw up a lot.. Wish i knew what was causing that... that is already getting old as its a mess to clean up, and clothes changing for both kylie and i.
I have chicken i need to cook, bag and freeze to make future cooking time easier.. I made hamb. meat on Sat to do the same.. bag and freeze... Now i need to make patties and freeze those.. So i should be off of this and do that before my meat gets old in the fridge.. Its been kinda a challenge with 2 kids even when Kylie sleeps a lot!! I'm not sure what it is yet but i will get my stuff figured out and learn how to adjust it all with 2 kids.. I thought i was doing good but when you haven't made it to Hy Vee in 3 days... something is wrong.... Although i did go to the fair today, guess i could have made it to hy vee but it was pouring down rain and alex had the grocery list on him.. he went to wal mart while i was at fair with my mom and kids. (2 of my cousins were in the talent show today so i wanted to watch that.. one of them was playing the guitar and singing a country song.. he did awesome! I want Carson to learn how to play the guitar.. Too bad his mom and dad don't know how to play the guitar.. Guess we will have to do lessons with someone that teaches music... not sure if the music square (with beth) is still around these days?? anyone know?)

quick update

I thought i'd get on this real quick.. Everything has been going good.. Looks like tomorrow or Wed. will be my first time on my own with 2 kids. pray for me! I know it will be fine but who knows what Alex will be up to when he gets home from work. He'll either get to relax or get to do housework. We'll see! Kylie is such a great baby! Very content! She sleeps A LOT! I even get to sleep at night time, only get up a few times to change her diaper. We both still wake up soaked. She's soaked at the diaper and i'm soaked somewhere else.. :) And I also soak Kylie too as well.. Poor girl! So shower/bath has been a morning thing for Kylie and I. I haven't been in the mode to type up my birth story.. I typed it but cant seem to word it the way i want it to be.. I'll keep working on it sometime.. I think i will email the birth story instead of posting it on here.. I believe I will be posting some personal stuff on that as there was some personal things happening while in labor and during my 2 pushes to get Kylie out. So its not really something i want out in the public. Also announcements is on the list to to do with thank you cards.. I need to take pictures of Kylie. She is still changing and looking different. Her eyes are not so swelled up, still bloodshot but the eyelids is looking normal now. Soo yea, maybe thats something i should do on Tuesday and Wednesday. Do pictures, announcement cards and thank you cards before that gets carried away and too late to send out. Well i should hit the bed.. i'm tired!!

New Momma.... again...

The past few days has been going good.. Carson is taking it better than we thought he would be. He loves to kiss Kylie and rub her head.. We just have to be careful with him not putting his body weight on her.. Kylie is a VERY content baby, which i'm very thankful for! She only cries when she wants to nurse.. She is a great nurser and yes it hurts too but I'm starting to get used to that.. My body is slowly healing.. Uterus contractions is getting better and not as painful.. My back is hurting and getting headaches here and there.. Hopefully in a few days i will be back to normal and back to my normal daily routine. Of course i will have to learn how to adjust my routines with two kids now.. I have pictures uploading so i'm sitting here waiting on pictures to post on here... I started to type the birth story the other day and havent got back to it yet.. guess i will do that now... I am back... about 5 hours later.. Got pictures on the computer now.. I will post a few here in a minute. Alex and Carson are out right now and kylie is sleeping, and i'm sitting here loading pictures and enjoying cheesecake from Tami.. yum!
New news... we bought a van yesterday.. well not NEW but new for us.. I think we are going to really like it! We all took a ride in it last night and i forgot to take a pic of Kylie's first car ride.. grr! But i havent drove it yet.. It needs a good cleaning in the inside.. I hate how ppl sell dirty vehicles... but at least he took our offer on it.. :D

Its a Girl!!!

Kylie Luanne was born at 4:45 pm at home on July 12th. 7lbs 12oz, 21 inches. Bigger than I had expected.. I told Alex to weigh her again b/c I thought the scale was off but turn out to be the same after 3 times. lol.. I thought she was a 6lb'er. Carried her smaller than Carson and she even looks smaller than Carson when he was born! Maybe its just that its been too long ago that I forgot.. :) Anyway, I hope to get a birth story posted on here sometime this week. Had an interesting ending.. we ended up not lighting the candles from Blessing Way celebration(I did have on my labor necklace the whole time!) or videotaping it... :( It all happened to fast at the end!! I even had her over the toilet too!! I had the bedroom(video camera and bed) set up to have her on the bed but the bathroom was my favorite place to be.. which turned out to be a good thing b/c it was easier to clean the floor in bathroom than bedroom carpet.. Again.. i will post that stuff on my birth story for more further explanation.. but i'm having uterus contraction pains so need to get off this chair.. Kylie is sound asleep on the boppy pillow around me.. She's making it all easy at the moment! :)
I only have one picture of Kylie on the computer.. We will have more posted another time.. Her face is looking better today, not so bruised or swelled up like yesterday so.. hopefully we get some good pics of the kids today.. Wow.. i can say KIDS now... too weird! I thought i'd be saying... BOYS instead... its ok, Kylie is a perfect addition to our family and we couldn't be more proud! Daddy is so happy its a girl!! He was hoping for a girl ever since we found out we were pregnant but assumed it was a boy just b/c i thought there was a higher chance for a boy but I'm proven that theory is not true.. You know how they say, if you want a boy, conceive when you ovulate and if you want a girl, conceive a few days before you ovulate.... I know my cycle well!! Its whatever God gives you!!

party weekend

Hello all... Not much to post today... Still no baby.. I am now starting to get impatient about it.. only b/c I'm ready to know what I'm having and what this baby looks like.. Not b/c I'm uncomfortable, b/c really... i could carry for another month! So i know its not a 10 pounder! :) I better not be putting a curse on myself by saying i could carry another month. Imagine how impatient I'll get by then.. Have a bachelorette party to go to tonight and a bridal shower tomorrow for my 2 friends that happens to be getting married on the same day.. August 9th is going to be a crazy afternoon/evening! But already told them both that theres no guarantee if I make it to their party this weekend.. (Please be here long before the 9th of Aug. baby doak!!)
I'm up to having this baby today or tomorrow!! Pray that my water breaks! :) Maybe i should go mop the floor on my hands and knees and see what that does to the body..
I better go.. Have some laundry to fold..

So Proud...

of Carson.. I am going to say he is officially potty-trained!! He just went in the bathroom by himself, peed and put his underwear back on by himself.. :D Thats huge for him! Usually one of us have to help him and help him put his undies back on.. we still dress him.. lol.. now is the time to let him dress himself.. Its just a thought that never really clicked to me till recently, its just us so its easy for me to do everything for him.. I guess you will have that when its just mother and one child at home all day..
But i'm proud of Carson for being potty-trained!! I know we will still have accidents here and there but he at least knows when he has to potty and holds it til we get to a toilet. Yesterday at Wal Mart after checking out, we went to the bathroom and Carson was intimidated by the toilet and saying, no mommy, too big!! too big!! He was talking about the toilet being too big and not having his toilet seat(which is what i HATE, need to find a different one) but I encouraged him that it will be fine and that i will hold him... blah blah... he peed in the big toilet!! I was happy! A lady walked in the same time as we did and she was done the same time as we were so she heard everything and at the sink, she asked if he went and i said.. he did!! She said "Good Job!" to Carson.. For you mothers out there, you know thats a great feeling!
Ok.. off to take a shower then make lunch.. we had a relaxing morning.. :)
Oh, pregnancy note... I have been feeling great.. no contractions as far as i know.. pains in the back here and there but nothing big.. Just one night i was in pain and i wish i knew what night that was?! Saturday night i believe.. ( i need to start documenting things.. I cant even remember when i started potty training carson.. I'll have to look at previous posts to know.. losing my memory!! I cant be that old!! This is something i used to be a pro at!)

our weekend

Well we stayed busy this weekend and relaxed some.. We love our new living room set up! we rearranged all the furnitures, even the entertainment center. Living room has a lot more open space now. We also hung pictures up yesterday, in my opinion, that turned out good. So... I'm pretty much ready whenever baby wants to come.. I'm glad the living room and bedroom is over with! We still have to paint the bathroom, hallway and 2nd room but I'm in no hurry for that.. Not even on my list to do right now.. I feel like i can relax now!! I love it! Today is do laundry and dishes and snap diapers. Carson peed at some point in bed last night so washing the bedding is on the list for today.. It needed done anyway, so him peeing in bed gives me a good excuse to get it done now :).. I also just reminded myself that we need more food so i guess I'll be grocery shopping this afternoon..
On top of everything, I am waiting patiently for baby Doak 2's arrival.. My dad left yesterday for a business trip for 2 weeks so I was kinda bummed about the fact if i had the baby this week but I guess we can at least email him pictures.. I'd hate for him to have to wait over a week to meet my new baby.. I know he will be bummed too.. I wouldn't mind having this baby on the 12th. :) We'll see!! I just don't want to go TOO late... I'll be getting impatient then!! I know theres ways you can try to start labor but I wont even be bothering with that right now, like i mentioned I am waiting PATIENTLY..Carson says.... "Baby is stuck!!" Its soo cute when he does that, he tries to pull on my belly to get baby out but ends up saying, baby stuck! We will just wait till we least expect it! I was also going to mention.. When Carson was born, some may think this sounds selfish, but there were times i wished i could put him back in my belly b/c I felt like that was the best protection i could provide for him. Protect him from all the exposed germs/viruses out there, no struggling with eating(since nursing was a struggle) and to have baby with ME at all times... So this helps me be patient knowing that right now baby has the best protection there is and I'm also enjoying my last moments with just Carson and I..
I shall log off and get moving with today's chores.. Have a good Monday! To my labor announcement ladies, be sure to keep your cell phone on you! EVEN in the middle of the night.. (had a dream that no one got my text b/c it was in the middle of the night so no prayers/thoughts for me while i was in labor.. lol)

No baby yet

I'm bummed to say baby is not here yet.. :) We thought it'd be cool to have a 4th of July baby but baby didn't want to make its appearance.. I will wait patiently for baby's arrival.. I will continue to enjoy the pregnancy and having an only child right now. I feel like i could carry the baby for another month! No, i don't want to but thats how great the pregnancy has been.. With Carson, i was complaining at this stage, the right side of my body was swelled up, i couldn't sleep comfortable. No more hip pains these days, I can still sleep good.. just hard to get out of bed with a belly in front of you with baby in a weird position but it moves as soon as i get up. So for those who texted me yesterday, my phone died last night so thats why you didn't get a text back.. Nope, no baby yet and not in labor either. I do have some pains here and there but nothing serious yet! Baby will be here eventually!!

A different subject.. I wanted to say I am very thankful for 2 awesome sister in laws, Heather and Traci.. I couldn't ask for better sister in laws. I've been blessed to have them in my life! Anyway, about them, they threw a blessing way party for me on Thursday evening. It was very neat! Got some neat gifts from everyone! Blessing way is kinda like a baby shower but its more of a focus on the mother. Heather made a necklace for me that I will be wearing when I am in labor to be reminded that others are praying for me while I'm in labor and will have candles lit too as well as the other ladies that attended my blessing way shower will have one to lit and a prayer card that was made with my prayer requests on it. Theres lots of ways you can do a blessing way, check it out online! I will LOVE to have one for the ladies that attended on Thursday, so someone needs to hurry up and get pregnant!! :D I had a great time! Special thanks to: Heather, Traci, Tami, Breanna and Laura!!

Carson and I told this baby, he/she can come out whenever now.. No, the painting is not done and no i did not complete all 24 diapers but i have enough that will get by for now.. :) I'm tired of all this stuff to do, I'm just ready to have the baby now.. I do want to tidy up a bit around here.. put my sewing machine away and the card table can go back under the bed.. People will obviously tell that the house is under construction, well that is if baby comes soon and not completed.. But who do i need to impress?? Could be worse!! SOO if this baby does come soon... excuse the bare walls and lack of decorations around the house.. It'll get done EVENTUALLY.. Sounds like we WILL put the house on the market after baby is born so by then, we'll get the walls done and "designed to sell".. :P

gloomy and dark...

well.... last night ended up to be a frustrating evening.. I was getting to the point where i told myself.. SCREW THE PAINT AND PUT THE HOUSE ON THE MARKET!! What happened was... the green paint we had picked for the living room/kitchen wall... its a beautiful green but unfortunately, it is WAY TOO dark for the kitchen.. So the kitchen is looking pretty gloomy and dark.. Don't like it, Alex agrees too.. *whew* So today we will be making another trip to Sherwin Williams and get a new gallon of paint.. brighter paint.. possibly a tan/beige color.. Somewhere in that color family category. I think i will let Alex do the paint.. :) He is a lot faster and better at it than me.. I plan to help him.. So maybe I'll find a sitter for Carson this evening so we can paint tonight.. Not sure if Alex has any plans but i hope painting is part of the plan.. lol He has some dirty furnitures(I'm talking, gross dirty!) in the garage that he has to clean with the carpet extractor for some guy he works with. So i think he plans to finish the chair tonight and start on the couch.. hopefully that wont take forever.. But the chair, according to Alex, is looking nice and clean now.. I haven't checked myself so i wouldn't know.. Well I don't plan on making this too long.. Have things i want to do today.. So have a good day everyone!
